Kathryn Rozin

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Kathryn is a founding partner and the chief executive officer of Rozin Technologies, a forward-thinking company dedicated to providing proactive and customized security technology solutions. She has over 25 years of experience effectively managing strategy, financial results, sales, branding, marketing, and operational efforts for various small and medium-sized businesses.

In parallel with Rozin Technologies’ core functions, Kathryn co-founded Rozin Security in 2010, which delivers exceptional consulting, training, protection, and intelligence services.

Beyond her successes as the leader of Rozin Technologies and Rozin Security, Kathryn is passionate about transforming security into a respected profession led equally by women and underrepresented individuals. She hopes that by guiding profitable and valued security service and technology companies, she can encourage others to enter the field and build their paths to prosperity.

Her mission is to help family, career, and community service-driven individuals strike a healthy balance between their professional and personal goals and find fulfillment in all aspects of their lives.

Michael Rozin, CTM™

PRESIDENT

Michael is a founding partner and the president of Rozin Technologies. For nearly 25 years, he has focused on protection against perpetrators of targeted violence. He utilizes his skills and extensive experience to create systems that work in today’s technology-driven world and are built for professionals like himself.

Parallel with Rozin Technologies, Michael co-founded Rozin Security in 2010, which delivers exceptional consulting, training, protection, and intelligence services. In this role, he has handled over 500 threat assessment and management (TAM) cases. Seeing the need for an effective platform for TAM cases, TIPS® (Threat Information Protection System) was conceived.

Michael’s initial foray into protection was serving in the Israel Defense Forces as a sergeant in the specialized combat unit Barkan. He then completed an advanced security and anti-terrorism training program under the Israel Security Agency’s oversight at the Israel Security Academy. This led him to join the Israel Airport Authority as a security agent for Ben-Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv. In 2005, he received an award for excellence for his performance at the agency.

In 2005, Michael transitioned to the private sector, leading the special operations for the largest shopping mall in the United States, the Mall of America (MOA). As Special Operations Security Captain, he developed, implemented, and managed a behavioral threat detection and assessment program and various other programs focused on targeted mass violence prevention. These initiatives proved so effective that they were presented to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Homeland Security as a security model in the private sector in 2008.

Michael is a regular guest speaker at law enforcement conferences on counterterrorism and other proactive security methods. He is a faculty member at the University of Minnesota’s Master of Science in Security Technologies program, where he teaches security risk assessment principles and integrates psychology, behavior threat assessment, and technology in a security operation in this role. Michael is also a University of Tampa Criminology and Criminal Justice Department Advisory Board member.

Michael is a Certified Threat Manager (CTM™) through the Association of Threat Assessment Professionals (ATAP), a graduate of the Institute of Counterterrorism in the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya, Israel, a certified Krav Maga instructor, and fluent in Bulgarian, English, Hebrew, and Russian. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, engaging in the community, and working on fluency in Arabic, French, Greek and Spanish.

Theseus – Fixated Risk Management

Theseus is a communicated threat and fixated risk management practice specializing in the assessment and management of the risks associated with persistent, intrusive, and threatening behaviour. Their team includes experts behind the Fixated Research Group, the UK’s National Stalking Clinic and Fixated Threat Assessment Centre, the latter established to help protect senior politicians, royalty and other public figures.

School Threat Assessment Consultants LLC

In 2001, Professor Dewey Cornell of the University of Virginia led a team of educators and researchers to develop a practical and effective set of guidelines for schools to use in responding to threats of violence. This model, the Comprehensive School Threat Assessment Guidelines (CSTAG; formerly the Virginia Student Threat Assessment Guidelines) has been rigorously evaluated in controlled studies and large-scale implementation studies involving thousands of schools in multiple states. In 2013 it became the only threat assessment model to be recognized as an evidence-based practice by the National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices. Over the past 20+ years, CSTAG has been widely disseminated in the United States and Canada.

CSTAG allows school‐based teams to follow a decision‐tree process to resolve less serious, transient threats quickly while focusing greater attention on more serious, substantive threats.
